I have a Get Rag 5 speed in my 92 but the syncronizers went out and need to rebuild it but i was wondering if a trans from a newer dodge would fit? Like up to an 05 or 06? What would be the best trans?? It's going to be used as a ranch truck to feed with and pull stock trailers and maybe move a tractor or small dozer around some, so what would be the best trans?? Like around the 1300 to 1500 price range cuz thats what its gonna cost to rebuild anyways. Any ideas??

It's a 4x4 by the way if that matters.

 

Pretty sure you can get a new trans to work, just need the adapter plate and starter from the donor truck, might also have to upgrade t case and driveshaft lengths. Just curious where you are getting 1300 to rebuild a getrag, you can pick up a new one for that. If it was just the synchros then they have a rebuild kit on ebay for $250 or check the sponsors sites might find some stuff in there. Now if you are hell bent on swapping the trans then I would go with the nv4500 5 speed out of a second gen 94-98.

 

Well thats a complete rebuild all new everything and a 3 year warranty by a guy that is like a dodge guru and the sycronizeres went out and chipped some teeth tryin to shift so yeah couple gears are bad too and ok ill look into one
