BIG PROBLEM
was driving truck tonight and hit a bump thats when my fuse panel under dash fell down, arked against brake pedal on bottom left butt connector, and shut the truck off. i tried to recrank it but had no luck. i have cab lights that are added on and put that against one of the copper tabs under fuse spots and it cranked but had to stay connected to the metal. i tried to shut truck off by key and didnt work til i pulled off the cab light wire. no blown fuses, no bad fusable links that i could see. honestly dont know where to begin looking to see what had happend or what is the actual problem. thanks in advance for anyone who has an idea.

haha small problem.... there is no power going to the ignition unless i touch the cab light wire to copper contact under the 3 fuses on the left

so played with it again just now and it seems like the last 3 fuses need to be grounded now and i will need to install an ignition kill switch?

just got back in gave up on it gonna sell the truck and get something newer sick of these 1st gen wiring problems. the problem is that the truck needs to be grouned from its own fuse panel. when i do that it runs until i remove the wire from the underneath of the fuse panel. if i start the truck hold wire on to run i can remove the key from the truck and it still runs. i cant afford to take it to a shop for repairs, dont know how to rewire an ignition, and dont know of anyone in the area with a 1st gen that knows how to work on this truck.

You do realize that is a contradiction in terms right? Grounding fuses?
Have you checked continuity on the fusible links? Myself and another poster here have both told you that is most likely the problem. You cannot visually verify their integrity.
Otherwise, I'll give you $200 for it.
OBTW, I forgot to mention, what initially started your problem, grounding the fusebox on the brake pedal was YOUR fault, not "1st Gen wiring problems."
