Default tranny swap

Ok so I have two first gens one is 2wd and one is 4wd they are both broke down and I need to get something going so the cheapest way to do so if possible is to take the tranny out of my 4wd and put it in my 2wd is there anything that will not allow this to work they are both getrags just 2wd verses 4wd. Thanks for any input in advance.

the 4x4 rear main shaft out put is shorter, you would need to switch that output shaft and adapter. I had a 2wheel case and converted it. unless you move the transfer case with it and just not run a front drive line ......or vise versa.....but the 4x4 trany has to keep its case for a drive line output. if your going to a 2 wheeler thats simple. good luck.
