turbo problems
ive been having some issues with my turbo on my 93 making a fluttering sound when building boost if i drive really easy i dont notice the fluttering sound but if im getting on the highway and get on it its horrible and my boost gauge bounces from 15-25 psi, i just bought this truck from a kid and havent really gotten to go through it and find out what all is done i do know the pump isnt turned up but has a dennyT stage 2 pin and the turbo says h1c on it but has a wastegate? and the kid said it has pod 90hp injectors, i was told my wastegate could be sticking? im new to the 1st gens and 12v's so any help would be greatly appreciated thank you

It does sound like a sticky wastegate. The fluttering sound you are hearing is probably the sound of the turbo's backpressure trying to make it spin backwards. Under this condition, the wastegate should open and allow the turbo to release the extra pressure, and not over spin it. Check the line going to the wastegate, and maybe remove it and check to be sure it is actuating properly. You may have to get a new actuator, or maybe just upgrade to an HX35.
