Swapping my stock turbo for an HX35? any input?
#12
Ok the wife finally gave me the go ahead to upgrade my turbo guess its my christmas present. I am buying the turbo from a very well known diesel performance shop in the area and I am curious do I need to or should I want to change out my down pipe at this time from the stock one? I have from just under the cab jumped my exhaust up to 4" already and thats feeding into 5" stacks. Also can anyone recommend a low cost (short budget) upgrade for the intake side of the turbo? i.e. tube you used from something else and or a good filter? I am convinced the slinky hose although its small is still costing me that little extra power I am after. Just trying to think outside the box basically. Thanks guys and merry christmas!

I did some looking online for a turbo today as the guy that I was gonna get mine from quoted me 150 over the original quote 2 months ago. I found an HX35 from cx racing on ebay suppose to be brand new in the box delivered to my door for around 300? Does this sound fishy or a good buy? It says it replaces the turbo for a 96 thru 98 with a manual, this shouldn't cause any prolem on my old auto should it?
