Seeing as how the skyjacker 6" lift for our truck is just the 8" gasser lift I would imagine you would lose a good bit of height.

When we did the 318 to cummins swap in mine, it only took about a week for the old springs to arch the wrong way. Carrier spring makes a set of "soft ride" replacement leaves as well. They use a set of 3 tapered leaves in stead of the stock 6. I haven't heard any reviews, but they are constructed the way older heavy-duty truck springs were before they went to air suspension. Running anything other than something designed to handle the weight of the cummins makes me nervous because the OEM springs didn't even seem to do all that well. I'm researching the same right now, and before I do make any descisions, there is a truck shop here in Baltimore that makes this stuff. I'm going to take the truck up the see them, and if they could make me something. The shop is Middleton and Meads if your local.

Ehhh idk if I lost anything or not, I know when lifted from the frame the axles drop a good bit. It's still 6" lift over stock when compressed. I measured about 3" from tire to bottom of my flat bed before the lift and a little over 9 after the lift. I know the springs flex nice, just sudden bumps and jars rattle your teeth

I think you miss understood me. The springs for 6" of lift on a diesel application are the springs they use for 8" lifts on gas applications. The extra weight of teh cummins makes them settle 2" more then the gas application.

Are the ride soft springs as good as they claim? And do they have the load capacity of the original springs? I'm between BDS 5" lift regular springs for 225 each and skyjacker ride soft 4" lift for 270. Wondering if they're worth the extra 50 bucks.
