how much faster will the timing bump wear things out mine is at 17 degrees for the past 57 thousand miles should i back it down its my daily driver

ANY timing advance is going to wear things out faster. As for how much... I think that depends on how you drive. I'm not sure there's a qauntifiable answer to that. Now, is it going to kill you engine in the next 20,000 miles? Probably not. 50k? Probably not. Remember, these engines are capable of a LOOOOONNGG service life, so not thrashing the crap out of them is going to help achieve that. Advancing the timing isn't helping with longevity, but starting it cold, flooring it and running 40 psi is doing way worse.

I was wondering does the block insulation serve any purpose or can I take it out of there ?

Well then time to remove some unnecessary insulation the louder the better
