what kind of weight can a first gen handle

i tow a 30 foot tandem duel flat bed with ten tons of feed 400 mile round trip twice a weekk at 65 through hills and my turck loves it

I drag campers all over the us and I had no problem with up to 15,000 lbs. a little slow on the hills but she just plugs along.

the most i have pulled with mine was 12,000 combined. thats a scary ride with a bumper hitch trailer behind a short bed regular cab

An auto won't hold 20k for very long.
Then again, neither will either the POS NV4500 or the Getrag.

Put any of them in the western hills and that'll tell you in short order just how well built they are (or aren't).

yeah my neighbor rebuilt mine and put in a valve body and torque converter so i love it
