ok so i found a guy with a decent price on a 2x4 518 here in town actually. i got 2 questions for you guys. number lets say i just put the tranny in as is and make my truck a two wheel drive for now till i can get mine rebuilt well the cross member work for it still or would it have to be moved?? second question is im sure you can make a 2x4 tranny into a 4x4 tranny what all needs to be done and how hard would it be?? thanks guys

 

If the prospective trans is out of a gasser, pass.

The diesel A518 has a different mechanical governor weight so the trans will shift properly (correct engine RPM range).
