Default lift pump leaking

have a leaking lift pump and wodering if it could be a gasket or a bad lift pump. im not great with diesel yet so i dont know what to start replacing first

hmm did you check the lines going into or leaving the pump? do you still have the stock lift pump?

umm most likely its the gasket i had the same problem and it was the gasket if its the original lift pump then is over 20 years old just go and pick up a new lift pump there cheap and it comes with a gasket there easy to replace

yaa its the original lift pump. do you suggest getting a whole new one or a gasket?

The gasket wouldn't cause it to leak diesel it would cause it to leak motor oil.

just go and get a new one there not that expensive but you really are better off putting in a new pump and a gasket but make sure you find out the proper tourqe specs when u install the new one or eles you will just tear the gasket and have wasted ur mony not to mention wasted your money

ok thanks everyone i willl most likely get a new one and does anyone know a site where i can get the torque specs from?
