Well I've had some problems with my transmission sticking in 5th gear. I tried to shift it in third and it slid to fifth and stuck there. I've already tried taking out the shifter hoping it would jump back to neutral. It didn't, so I'm pretty sure my transmission is screwed. I plan on rebuilding the transmission this summer when i get the rest of my sign on bonus. But i was wondering if anyone had any short term fixes i could try. My truck is a 1990 w200 with the stock getrag 360. Thanks

 

Sounds to me like you have a problem in teh top loader plate, and if it is it is fairly easy to overhaul them if you are of a mind.

 

A reman topcover should fix you up. http://www.drivetrain.com/parts_cata...kit_dodge.html Thats the cheapest one I could find.

 

Sounds interesting is it just replacing the top half of my gearbox? cause that sounds worth a try over rebuilding my entire transmission
