Default Split shot to Single shot Questions...

Just picked up an E99 F250 which just had Full Force single shots put in by PO. He also has an Edge EVO programmer which is giving me problems by just losing power. Sometimes it will and sometimes it wont reboot when I replug it in. Up until last week I've owned a 96 OBS PSD and familiar with a lot of poor opinions of PSD's and Edge.

If I reload the stock program, will the truck run acceptable w/out damage since its meant for split-shots? I'm not at all happy with the Edge and if I cant just dump it then I need to know if I'm forced to switch over to another programmer immediately. I've been sold on DP Tuner over the years but they're too pricey for me right now.

BTW, There's a TS 6-position in the glove box. Never had one but from what I recall, the plug is modded onto the PCM's Breadboard and then the chip is docked into that from inside the cab. Would that have a tune on it to help me out. The PO disappeared so I hate to just plug that baby in. I recalled him saying something about him hooking one up but dicided to switch to an Edge. Low and behold, it showed up in the Glove box in pristene condition. Watch ya all think??

If it has single shots on an edge there is your problem. The edge is meant to be used with stock injectors nothing else. DP is absolute garbage so good thing you didn't waste your money on that. Send the ts and have someone put custom tunes on it and run it.

Got a hold of the PO and he had the TS-6 programmed b4 the stage-1 upgrade and then he went to the Edge. Tech support at TS said all programmers corrupt the original PCM instructions even when you choose to reprogram back to stock. They only remove 97% of their proprietary instructions. Therefore pulling the edge before I have the PCM flashed to stage-1's will present a problem from my research....erratic and unexpected rpm surges which according to some testimonies make backing up extremely dangerous.

It seems I need to at least have the PCM tuned to stage-1's as a safety default and then as you suggest, just send in the TS-6 to someone reputable to program it to my mods. Turns out he had the HPOP remanned so its still a 15*....

Getting off that edge will free me up to use the interceptor to monitor other PID's and pull codes. So, I think I got it figured out...thanks for the help...

BTW...why do you feel DP is not what I think and who do you recommend I send the TS into for the programming?

your making things more complicated. just send the TS to someone and have then retune it for the injectors and your good to go. no need to send the pcm anywhere.

DP is responsible for more engine failures then all other tuners combined. i would rather run the edge over DP.
