Default Turbo for my 1st gen.

I have a 93 Ram w250 5.9l. And I love it! Except the turbo .
My friend has a 2003 6.0l powerstroke,https://www.dieselbombers.com/images/smilies/scare3.gif and while I'm a cummins boy, his turbo sounds amazing. I can get a 03 f350 turbo for 500$
My question is how hard would it be to swap that turbo into my truck?
Is it possible? Since I have a 5.9l and that's a 6.0l turbo it shouldnt cause any lag right?
Any insight would be awesome.
Thanks, by the way im new to this site.

No it's not just a bolt up make a flange it's not just a turbo u can make fit it is a computer controlled turbo that has vains in the turbo that move back and forth and that's why they spool up fast and sound so cool

What is it you don't like about the turbo? I'm asking so as to give you my $0.02 on what sort of turbo will fit your needs and wants.
I know what you're saying about the sound, but buying a turbo 'cause it sounds good doesn't seem to be a smart way of buying. Maybe your truck will sound great, but is it actually going to work? And in this case, probably not. I don't know anything about those particular turbo's, but I can tell you that if it was going to work, someone, or many someone's, would have done it long ago.

There is a guy on another site that put a powerjoke turbo on a 24 valve. It was a lot of work and money and I think it was just a sled pulling truck anyway. Mine is as loud as a big truck (people tell me they can hear it whistle 3 blocks away)and all I did was put a Wh1c compressor side on, bhaf, 4" 2nd gen exhaust and the 18.5 housing back on.

I want to hear it over the cummins growl,
I just bought it 2 months ago, so as of now engine is stock, I wouldnt mind switching out the injectors, and turning the fuel screw, get some black smoke, and more hp
I'm going to straight pipe this next week.
But yea, I just want to hear her whistle, so I know somethings there , mine doesnt really sound like a whistle, it sounds alot more like a gentle breeze .

I don't know about you. But when I put my BHAF on, with the exhaust removed muffler back. I could hear my turbo some inside the cab. I was thrilled.
If i were you id start simple GAUGES, BHAF, 4" exhaust, 3200 spring, pump adjustments, then turbo. my $0.02

put an aftermarket intake on and upgrade using the GDS 60mm comp upgrade. My truck actually has more whistle than id like.
