Question Lift Pump and Manually Bleeding System!

The old lift pump was definitely leaking so went to replace it with a new one and thought it was all snug back in there but when i took it on a test run, it was leaking tons of fluid. I'm pretty sure it was just diesel. When i triple checked the lift pump bolt, i realized it wasn't tightened all the way. I plan to pick up a torque wrench and new gaskets for the pump.

Now i am afraid that I have all sorts of problems but don't know it. I think i found oil in the fuel pump. and definitely fuel in the oil pump. besides changing the filters and the oil, any recommendations to prevent a huge issue on the 2,000 mile long haul i am suppose to of left for a week ago!

anyone else ever had this happen?

Thanks for reading!

I had to put some thread sealing crap on my fuel line, it leaked bad without it. Replace your basket, tighten your LP back up and I'm sure youll be fine. Oil change of course.

Thank You for the assurance Billy D!

I am now bleeding the system but have been pumping the mechanical lift pump for a long time and still no fuel coming out.

My engine does not have bleed screws since it has been modified.

Any ideas on how to bleed the system?!

looks like we have the same problem now....

I replaced the lift pump and now there is a significant fuel leak. The previous owner rigged the truck to run on wvo and diesel which bypasses the pre-heater and stock fuel/water separating filter. Does anyone have an idea about what might be going on?
