Default Transmission swap

I am putting a 93 12v in my 1978 Ford F250 4x4 Crew Cab and I need transmission advice. I want to stay with an automatic but expect to end up around 450-550 hp with modifications I am doing to the engine. Should I build up a 47RH or can I upgrade to a newer model without electronic problems. I have access to a 68RFE out of a 2008 6.7 but do not know if it could bolt up. I know I have to work out the transfer case issues also since I plan on reusing my NP205. Adapters are availible for most of this but the tranny is an area I know less about and would appreciate any advice. Thanks
