I was working on replacing the power window moter and the spring on the regulator decided to fly out, anybody go some insight on how to get this thing back where it needs to be

i bet thats why mine flop back and fourth and dont go up or down without assistance even with new motors...

 

Yeah, usually you clamp the regulators or stuff a pin in them with tension on the spring so it doesnt tear your head off... Also, good thick gloves are recommended too, just in case it wants to come loose and take a finger or two off. my advice would be to see if you can get the spring stuffed back in it and wind it back to where you can take the motor off, then clamp it in place. BIG L you mention putting a pin in it how, anybody have a idea on how much tension. I have some, it goes up now but worried about winter.

 

I was able to get the actuator out, and the spring recoiled on it. thanks for the help.
