Manual switch for O/D?
Took an engine and trans from a 92 2wd and have eliminated pretty much all the wiring for the computer. I will put a voltage regulator on it for the alt but need to know if is possible to hook up a manual switch to engage the overdrive. If not then I will have to get ecu and figure it out from there. I tried in the stickys but it just leads me back to the stickys. Any imput is greatly appreciated. More pics on the swap into the Imperial to come later this week.

Sure can----
The plug pointing straight up just above the shifter linkage is the OD plug.
Connect one wire to a +12 when the key is on and the other wire to a switch mounted somewhere convienient on the dash and then from the switch to a solid ground.
Turn on the switch and the OD solenoid will pull up and you have OD.
That Cummins ought to move that heavy Imperial around about as good as the 440 that was in it.....
Maybe better

I really need to see some pictures of this! How in the world are you going to shoe spoon that in there? You have way more ambition than me. I was hating life putting the 4 door together and that was a fairly stright foward thing. Any hoot good luck with the build. You already have your answer for the question.

Thanks unixcowboy that is what I was hoping for. I am glad it is that simple. Now on to the other giant list of things to do.
