You will be able to, if you hack it up pretty good. Also what turbo are you running? That will make or break you on how the down pipe is. I'm not sure on your definetion of a "good deal" but there are a few companys out there with exhause for a 1st gen under 300$ And then again I've got a total of 70$ in my whole exhasut with mandles and half a day of work. Good Luck

I made mine. If you talk to an exhaust shop and say you are paying cash most have peices of pipe laying around that they can't use for other projects and what not. I've since added a stack which I did a little gypsy trading for so I'm still under 100 total.
And call up diamond eye for the built system. there are others out there too, just a recent romor I've heard on real cheap from diamond.
I will assume you are still swinging the factory turbo? If so may want to think about holding off on exhaust til you get that figured out. Well..... if you do plan on an windmill upgrade?
At the very lest get rid of the big old muffler and put a donkey dick on the end by the crossmemeber.

On that 2nd Gen. note: keep in mind that the pumpkin on the fron diff in a 2nd gen. is on the left, and the 1st gen is on the right, so this means that your t-case and driveshaft are stickin' out on the exhaust side, which is a problem that wouldn't be accounted for on the 2nd gen. system, there would be some work needed to adress that for sure.
