Hey I had that same problem and it was a short in the harness there's a wire from the batt. to the fuse box and there is a splice at the firewall and it gets corroded !!!

so ive tracked down the problem to this wiring harness and im wondering if i can cut the wires and just soder them back together or can i just buy the harness

if it were me i would cut and use a butt connector and some heat shrink

Never use butt con they just cause the same problem use soder and shrink tubing

not if you buy good ones and know how to use them
been using them for years and NEVER had a problem

Yep, if you buy a GOOD butt connector with the heat shrink shield and not the cheap plastic ones you will have no issues.

Those are you fusible links... One burnt out.

I'd cut that chunk of plastic open and make sure what's going on in there connection"wise" first, before trying to put anything back together.

did you get a chance to take a look at your truck by the way this wire is for the fuell shut off solinoid

k i fixed it i just attached the black to the white works great now thnx for the help just fyi
