Actually you are wrong there. The Dodge is about 2" wms - wms narrower, as well as the spring mounts are 1/2 farther apart than the chev. The chev is more desireable, but the dodge will work, and fords are usually more, because of availability and the fact they are high pinion.

there are two different versions, some are 2: narrower and some are the same as the chevys. your right on the 1/2" spring pad being seperated but thatll never stop someone from using one.

fords are cheaper where im at, because there are so many more of them. 78-79 will cost more than a chevy or dodge 60. but any of the 80-s now with the 36.5 spring width dont cost anymore than 7-800 normally

certain dodge dana 60's are like 67.5" wide and others are like 69.5" wide which is the same as chevys im pretty sure thats the numbers. id almost like that narrower one in my chevy my front axles stick out really far i would like the narrower 1" per side.

What front axle did you put in that chev? My second truck like yours that had the swap done had the ford high pinion 44 with the 8 lug outers and it stuck out a bit. But was good for wheelin, better approach with the tires out away from the body.

hence why I got a D60rear and 44 front with 4:88's in my other rig now... gearing i needed for the 42's and at $400 for the pair, a third the cost of just a 60 for the front

But that 44 is going to last long under that cummins, the weight and power is going to tear it up.

x2

my red 91 chevy i had straight axled on 40's had a HP HD 44 in it and those tires ate that thing up. i replaced axle shaft and axle shaft and bearing after bearing in that thing. and that just had a vortec 350 gasser in it

ever since then ive run 60's and never had a problem
