p pump motor swap

Default p pump motor swap

So I've been helping my buddy swap his 1990 dodge motor for a 1996 p-pump motor. We got btoh trucks tore down and both motors pulled. We swapped the tranny adaptors over and flex plate and motor mounts. We've run into trouble with a few things.first the 90 has like this odd looking vaccuum system or something of that sort on the power steering pump that the 96 ain't got we tried to take it all apart end make a hybid thing out of it but it didnt work.so we were thinking that its a part of the brake system like the brake assist kinda thingie, second when we tried to put the 96 motor in the 90 the motor sits crooked and won't align with the tranny and also its like a good two inches away form the bell housing also. Both me and him are stumpped as to why it won't go in correctly.we've double checked every thing twice.the motor mounts are installed correctly. And it just don't seem to want to fit. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. we both cant figure out how two motors that are so identical wont swap easily.

the trannys use a different bellhousing thatd be why it wont bolt up, you will need the rear adapter plate off the back of the 90 engine and you need to bolt it onto the 96 engine. as for the vacuum line, it is for the brakes it goes into the brake booster. the vacuum pulls from the pump to the brake booster and is what enables your power brakes.
