I just want to thank you guys for helping me with this even though its not on a true 1st gen cummins.My buddy at work has it on his 2001 sport 4x4.So i took the motor out and i extended the travel all the way and put it back in.well i then found out that the collar can slide both ways,unlocking the shaft.So i do need washers on each side.I need a way of measuring the collar travel.It just sucks because its stuck outside on a slope of ice!
