Default 3rd gen intercooler in a 1st gen.

hey all,

well my dad just got a new intercooler for his 05 24 valve, he said i could have his intercooler. is it any bigger than the first gens and is it worth the effort, lastly will it even fit.

I think its allot bigger but could be shoehorned in there..........just make sure its not the plastic bulkhead one cuz they suck and you dont need that

Its huge, ALOT larger then your 1st gen. I knwo that the 7.3 powerstroke is about as big as you can fit with out really cutting your truck up. I believe teh 3rd gen intercooler is even bigger. From what I have seen you need to cut off about 6" of frame and then fab up new bumper mounts and what not. A Powerstroke intercooler is alot nicer fit.

Yes by all mean! You have teh intercooler now, I dont know what kinda fab skills y'all got but it CAN be done. No write ups on it though!

3rd gen intercoolers are massive. i compared my dad's 06 to mine and it was like almost 3 times the size. theyre monsters
