3rd gen intercooler in a 1st gen.
hey all,
well my dad just got a new intercooler for his 05 24 valve, he said i could have his intercooler. is it any bigger than the first gens and is it worth the effort, lastly will it even fit. thanks for the help all. |
I think its allot bigger but could be shoehorned in there..........just make sure its not the plastic bulkhead one cuz they suck and you dont need that
|
Its huge, ALOT larger then your 1st gen. I knwo that the 7.3 powerstroke is about as big as you can fit with out really cutting your truck up. I believe teh 3rd gen intercooler is even bigger. From what I have seen you need to cut off about 6" of frame and then fab up new bumper mounts and what not. A Powerstroke intercooler is alot nicer fit.

if you do this take alot of pics for a tech article:tu:

Yes by all mean! You have teh intercooler now, I dont know what kinda fab skills y'all got but it CAN be done. No write ups on it though!
