timing question
well i have searched the forum and found parcial ansews to my questions so i need a lil help. i put my 80hp injectors in and now the motor runs really quite, is this normal or do i need more timing? i have the pump advanced now as much as i can bout 3/4 inch from the head, it wont go anymore. i was thinking maybe skipping a tooth and setting it back. but im not sure wich way to go with the pump gear for sure?

i put DDP 80hp injectors in my 90 and it runs quieter and smoother, the truck runs great, lots of power, lots of smoke, and i still have my pump at stock timing. but any way i think the pump gear should be rotated in the opposite direction as you rotated the pump to advance it more, but i dont think i would do that it sems like an awfull lot of timing to me

The larger the injectors teh more timing you need. If you dont tow heavy push it the rest the way to the head. If it sounds like it coming apart you have to much, back it off some! I had to put a ratchet strap around my pump and to teh passenger side the engine and help it with a dead blow hammer to get it all teh way to the head.
