Just go to a local cummins dealer and get part#3914284 for the spacer and go to like autozone or advance auto parts and get a fuel pump gasket for a small block chevy, for the extra gasket ull need. as far as the fuel line goes just take ur pump w. you to the hardware and use brass fittings be alot cheaper than the oem cummins line, thats what I did.

alright thanks and the fuel line from the tank to the fuel line should still work right.

I would do away with any oh the stock lines, run atleast 3/8 fuel hose from the tank to lift pump. If your going to do any mods to it at all you need all the fuel you can get.

When you tap into the piston lp do you remove the large brass nuts on the inlet and outlet and get a fitting to match those threads or do you go into the smaller oem holes?
Regardless, what are the threads of the inlet and outlet. My pump is on the truck so it is difficult to measure.

With the kind of fuel you need, I wouldn't even dream of using the stock filter, or anything that screws onto the same spud for that matter. The stock mount is a restriction in itself at your level. Unless you're going to pull the manifold off and machine out those fuel passages in there, you need something like this:

Now we're talking. I've just tried a filter off a second gen. but still doesn't do the job even with a flow rate of 60 gph. I was thinking about a filter housing from perma-cool
and a fleetguard filter FS1212 flowing 90 gph. NadirPoint, you've got a lot of fuel lines there. What's your routing of all these lines?

That's just the front portion. I have a fully redundant, high-efficiency, high volume fuel supply system with two tanks, two pumps, pre/primary filters, manually selectable for both supply and return:

I was thinking of putting a drawstraw from Vulcan, 1/2" supply to the low pressure piston lift pump, 1/2" line to a 20 micron,90gph remote fuel filter,then directly into the VE pump with 1/2". That will bypass all banjo bolts. I've got to know the best way to tap into the lift pump. Can you remove the large brass inlet and outlet nuts in order to get a larger fitting on?

I would stay with a minimum nominal 10um filter, unless you plan on replacing the VE and injectors on a regular basis. That's the stock filter rating and is a minimum standard for this type service IMHO. The primary shown in my first pic above is rated at 5um and flows plenty good for me. My fueling is stock with a couple turns on the fuel screw, but the post filter pressure never drops at all.
