I would plug the post turbo and move it pre turbo.

Default Pre Turbo for EGT's?

So Bobby, the 1100 reading I mentioned to you were taken aft, so when people tell me to be careful to not go over 1100-1150 degrees on this, are they assuming it is pre-turbo reading to watch for?

Yeah thats hot...

I think most people say 900* max for a probe after the turbo. If you have 1100 AFTER the turbo it is deffinatly time for a different turbo.

I bet it wont help a whole lot towing. It will help some but the heat soak from the intercooler is what is killing him Truthfully those water temps are within spec and I would not worry about it that much. I woudl be more concerned with the EGT's

Yep,the I/C radiator is plenty of rad fer the Cummins, even trimmed down a bit. With a new turbo egts should drop quite a bit, which should reduce heatsoaking also.

1100 is way too high for post turbo.....should go above 900-1000, i would do a 62/71/14 in a S300......

You guys are great!! You all add so much for really anyone here that is really serious minded about these power houses and how to get the most out of them for your exact need.

I am now going to start looking for a new hybrid turbine for these pulls. For now, I found that by just using a bit of discipline by taking my sweet time up those steep graded mountain passes, where my EGT's are climbing, I can keep her just under 1100 degrees, just not moving as fast, but then again, I am only on my way to my favorite camping/fishing spots and not in any emergencies.

If any of you have any suggestions of a better place for me to check for a new turbo, that offers us a better deal, please suggest one or two

Yep because none of us is as dumb as all of us!

Oh and x2b1 try dropping a gear pulling up the hills to get some boost into the engine. It might get your speed back and keep the truck cool. Worth a shot!
