300 is easy, 350 takes some work but can be done, 400 is going to take a large checkbook and some serious work.

That is a beautiful illustration. If you want 400hp, get a 2nd-gen P-pump engine and then rewrite your shopping list. For a VE pump, 400hp is at the edge. For a P-pump, 400 is nearly child's-play, by comparison. Either way, you're going to be having to do a little bit of fitment work on the truck's firewall, and right behind the grille, so you might as well do it in a reliable manner, even if the p-pump engine is, initially, a few hundred $ more to obtain.

So.. What you're saying is, some 1st generation trucks have P-pumps from factory?

The point I was trying to make Is He has no idea what engine he will end up with. and P pumps are a pretty common swap on 12 valves . are you always a condescending smart ***?
Where did I say anything about factory anything? So don't assume

P.S I advanced my timing and turned in my fuel screw in 1996 so I have a pretty good idea what fuel pump these trucks have stock.
