Default 93 fuel issues

Ok I have been running more WMO in my truck so I decided it was time for a pre filter before the lift pump. I went to the local filer place and bought the manifold and filter both of the donaldson variety. Almost a day later after the install I noticed it seemed to chug a little upon start up. So I decided to check my fuel pressure from the lift pump. 6.5 psi at idle.. So I shut the engine down and noticed that the fuel pressure bled off quickly.. Within 30 seconds.
I'm hopeing that this problem has nothing to do with the pre filter, even though before I installed the filter the truck never missed a beat..

Any thoughts?

The trouble with using higher levels of oil in your fuel is that it gets thicker. Add that to the fact that the factory lift pump "pulls" fuel from the tank. Then add to that a filter in the supply line adds more resistance to fuel movement. Even with straight fuel, a bubble develops in the top of the prefilter and can cause fuel pressure and flow issues. Best way to solve it is to install a low pressure pusher pump at the tank.

Ok that sounds about right.
I never usually go over a 50/50 mix. In the winter I stay around 10%. I've coked the injectors before so I learned my lesson there..
Are there any recommendations as far as a small pusher pump goes?

There are a number of suitable pumps out there, just depends on how you want to approach it. There are small pumps like the one from Mr. Gasket that will move sufficient fuel to supplement the stock lift pump for a mostly stock engine. Or you can delete your stock lift pump all together and run just an electric pump. There are a wide variety of pressures and volumes available. Just keep in mind that the front seal on our VE injection pumps can't handle much beyond 12psi safely without modifications.
