2nd Gen Fan and Clutch on a 1st Gen?
Well I picked up a 92 cummins a while back and am now experiencing some cooling issues. I remember hearing my fan kick on and it roaring like a big rigs fan but havent heard it recently and now getting hot.
As it turns out they did an update to our fans and clutches and then discontinued making the fans so turns out we are outta luck with oem clutches and fans.
So My question is, has anybody swapped out a 2nd gen fan and clutch into a 92 intercooled cummins before? i think this may be my best option right now if it actually is possible.
Thanks

I replaced the fan and fan clutch on my '93 last year with OEM. The fan was 2nd gen for sure but I don't remember about the clutch. It was recommended to me to replace the fan with the clutch. I did but saved the fan for a rainy day, the clutch was junk. The 2nd gen fan was made from slightly thinner steel. I have towed heavy a couple of times over the Grapevine and the Siskiyous since with no problems. P.S. Don't forget the big nut is left thread.
