I was reading on some other forums that a MLS head gasket from a common rail will fit a 12 valve. Does anyone on here have any experience doing this? Or does anyone make one specifically for a 12 valve? I blew a head gasket on my 89 again and was wanting to upgrade the gasket if I could. Thanks!

 

Blew again??? over boost, over heat, or warped surface? Only reason I ask I run 40PSI boost with stock head bolts and have not blown the gasket yet. Tow heavy and give it hell too . 223xxx Miles

 

I'm not sure I can pretty much rule out overboost but i'm leaning towards warped surface because I didn't take it to a machine shop to have the head decked, just checked it with a straight edge. The only mods this truck has is the pump turned up, and the kid I bought it off of put those junk POD injectors in it. While its apart i'm gonna go ahead and put a 366 spring and hx35 on it.
