Gov. Issues???
alright fellas, got the Denny t AFC delete and 336 gov spring, ran like a champ, the other night i was messing with a squeaking belt, had the engine at about 2500 or so, let go of the throttle and she just died. tried starting it back up and it wouldnt start unless you gave it some throttle, then it would hold a ruff idle if you held the pedal a little. dissasembled the pump top, took of the throttle linkage and rotated the shaft, i wasnt feeling any spring tension until the index mark on shaft was almost parrallel with the head. 9 & 3 vs. the 11&5 or 10&4 its usually at. i orderd another spring thinking that one was stretched. it wasnt. when the new one came, they were the same. assembled it any way with the new one and I AM 100% SURE about the indexing of the shaft, fuel load depth and idle screw setting. started it up and at first it acted like it wanted to run away but came back down like it was going to die, if i gave it a little pedal it would flare up real high and hang there along time b4 it came back down. its acting like somthing is hanging up in the Gov. assembly to me... what do you guys think?
