Cool down
When I was an apprentice my old foreman made me do jobs, not let me watch, You learn little without having a go. If you have a go and have problems then it is fine to seek help. Experience is the best teacher. By all means do research (cruise threads)

I agree a lot of threads drag on with a lot of hi jacking.

You know what novapat....you should be ashamed of yourself. I hear better language from pot heads at my public high school. I dont care if you build a 10 billion horsepower, 150 mpg truck...some one wants to learn about their truck and its people like you that make us want to get out of the sport. respond when you grow up a little. FYI....by any normal persons standards, your clearly the pathectic one

listen kid take it from me im 20 years old, i worked in a heavy equipment shop most of my life ik my way around a motor especially a cummins wich i happen to enjoy working on long story short thats why i own one. Just the other day i was looking to see what everyone thought about the snow performance water/meth kit i was all ready to start my thread when i said lets see if i can get my answers even quicker and search it. I did all the answers were there. What these guys are saying is search it because most everything has been talked out new guys ask i want my 12v to roal coal whats the best free mods it gets old and it also makes it hard to sift through all the threads sometimes when you are searching. This forum iv gotten more info than any other most these guys know there **** and because off them i kinda do to now anyway you should have never got ri of the first truck man i just sold my twelve valver that i havnt drove in like half a year i miss it already even though i love my new truck it sucks ik save your money my pops told me a long time ago "dont settle for anything you will regret it" he was right i waited on this one and i love with the others i jumped and lost lots of money fixing them
good luck to you kid Ooh-Rahh

I don't understand folks that sit on fence and humm and hahh over whether or not they should buy a 20yo truck with a piece of lightly used industrial machinery under the hood.

When I have enough spare cash, I buy the absolute cheapest cummins trucks I can find.

I have 3 now, and sacrificing the first - the roughest one - for the benefit of the other two... (or three if you count the ramcharger )

Pull your skirts up ladies, you're talking trucks here. Thicken your skin and you might get somewhere.

To answer the question:

A 1 ton cummins with over 300k has some stories to tell, it's probably been rode hard and put away wet more than most of your moms. It's only good for towing on pavement, and could get stuck in a mudpuddle. Good engine in a crappy package, wait for a better one unless you do a ton of towing and love working on old greasy trucks. Most one tons have a lot more wear than the three quarter tons, and being in construction myself I stay away from high mileage duallies for that reason alone, not to mention tires.

There, now everyone can hang a set and quit crying It's a cummins forum people, if you want to argue with someone pick on some ford owners.

360k is quite a bit of mileage on a dually. I would wait for another one to show up. If you previously had a 12 valve and sold it now you have learned the fact that these trucks are built to last and are hard to find under 300k.

If you do get it I would be looking into doing a full build from the ground up depending on the condition of the truck. If you post photos I can help you out more on the subject.
