Okay so after spending most of my xmas ripping my truck apart, i found out that the injector pump holds fuel like a broken glass and my water pump **** its self. so heres my question, Is it worth it to P-pump it with almost 400k on er or should i just rebuild the VE?

What do you want from it? Power? Ifnot wouldn't bother I did mine with a p-pump motor cuz it was cheaper then the VE with more mileage next to it. When my Ve cracked the block.

Yes they are but unless he find a whole motor for a grand it'll cost more then a pump rebuild. And from his sig that VE will work just fine.

i had a problem similiar to this. except the electrical and the pump leaking. i would put the pedal to the floor and it would belch white/blue smoke and back fire. couldnt get over 5psi boost. turned out that i had half a tank of water and fuel mixed and it strangled the lift pump. i replaced the lift pump dropped the tank and fully cleaned it out and did a new fuel filter and had injectors pop-pressure reset and it runs like a dream now. good luck with yours just throwing some ideas out there.

Yeah then don't bother with a P-pump swap. Couldn't tell you You'd have to search it on here, cummins forum or on DTR I know there's a rebuilt thread in the DTR 1st gen sticky or google it would be your best bet.
