also would the sudden rapid increase in fuel kick the lift pump? he never had an issue until we did he full power adjustment and 10 mins down the road it all started

Sounds like it's sucking in air still to me. If it was already weak maybe but if it's leaking fuel I'd say it's def from getting air in the fuel. I say it's time for a new LP either way. I'd change it n if it still does it. obviously the LP is toast anyway. The pumps needs the fuel demand of the LP to keep em cool. If they don't get the fuel demand there not gonna last.

That's what a VE pump was designed to do, have better progressive timing advancing and better pressure at startup, period, plus other admirable qualities.

All it has that the p-pump doesn't have is timing advance. I can tap my pedal n she will start just as easy or easier then a VE.

I knew there was a air problem from the start, you have one if you have a leak period. I just assumed you were gonna repair and replace ASAP.

Advancing the timing on a P-Pump is a good idea, just don't go too far and hurt your performance, just spoke to a fuel injection specialist about the VE pump and the P-Pump.

Oh, I found the injection pump rebuilder that could just about get it done with proper fueling mods as far as the LP goes. I already got the 900GPH fuel filter to do it with!

Just giving you a hard time Josh, I know the P-Pump is just about untouchable. I am really pleased overall with the VE pump so well, I will never mess with getting a P-Pump for my 1st Gens ever, just not worth all the losses to me. But I do want to P-Pump my Dad's 24 Valve if I ever get it.

Sorry for the thread jack!

I'm kind of used to having open conversations with people on the threads of other people cause a friend of mine owns a Aquarium Reef Forum by himself, so we pretty much do what we want on there, its pretty kool, sorry for the threadjack.

To be honest even with the mods my VE had I think my mildly modded non ic had more power. if both trucks had stock tires the 93 woulda destroyed the 90 I had. BUt Honestly I got my pump setup so well I get NO smoke at all n she lost a lil bit down low but passing power went way up with the p-pump. I have no complaints n isn't really any downfall over the VE except timing advance that's all. That would be a fun truck. If you can don't bother with a 160 or 175 horse pump there small fueling wise.
