I want to ditch my stock 3 speed auto. I ultimately want to swap in an eaton 10 speed. There's a red Chevy with a Cummins in it on youtube that's done it. Anyone got any details, our know what kind of donor vehicles i should look for. Would be happy with a getrag. If i did the getrag swap what else would i Nerf to get from the donor truck?

 

i dont know about the eaton 10 speed but is your truck a 4x4? if so you need front and rear shafts, tranny, bell housing, clutch, all the hydraulics, cross member, and the clutch/brake assembly. you will also need to cut a hole in your floor and bypass your neutral safety switch from your computer.

 

Why would you want a 10 speed? those trans weight is close to 1000lbs

 

Get a NV5600 if you want a lot of gears and want to spend money. LOL
