Default Advice on suspension lift decisions....

I was thinking about a bds 5 inch lift complete with rear leafs vs blocks and the dual steering stabilizer in the kit. I recently came across a site where a Customspring manufacturer builds custom made leafs springs to any size lift. It seams that many 4x4 shops do not want to sell me the bds kit directly, they all seam to have a 1000 dollar mark up on the kit and shop labor charges to install. I'm thinking that maybe I should have the custom leafs made and do it all myself, and order the additional shocks and steering components online.......might I get a better set of springs this way? I looked at my truck today, and it has a 6 inch block under the rear leafs now, but I think that this may have come from factory (1993w250 4x4 5.9 ext cab)! This leads me to believe that the truck with 6 inch new springs would be no taller than it is now? I want to put 35 inch tires on 17 inch rims, I am a newbie but I don't want to get taken by a dealer, only to find out I've purchased the wrong animal.........please advise

Call BDS directly. Tell them what you have and what you want.
Wouldn't do blocks in the back, seen them explode, aint pretty.
Dual steering stabilizer is kinda a joke imo. just more stuff to get knocked off on the trail.
And like 36Valved I6s's said, make sure its for a DANA 60/70 Combo and for a Cummins truck or youll be saggin *** in the front.
