right on man. a truck's cost depends on where its located. what shape it is in. if its 4x4 or 4x2. if its manual or auto, rust?, and if its an excab. this truck is an ex cab, no rust, 5 speed manual, locacted in maine but came fro florida. 4x4. soo if i were to buy a first gen this would be it. it needs some work which could get scary. i know the 2nd gens are real tough but dont know as much about the first gens. the truck has 250k and had a new engine put in at 130k and this enegine has 120k on it and the tranny was rebuilt 60k ago so im not sure if that is good or bad? did you read my first post to with all good and bad things?

My truck had 235k all original motor and tranny. Pull the upgrades off and run it all stock and the 1st gen will last a lifetime.

1st gens are hands down tougher and easier to work on than the 2nd gens.

Restore the truck back to stock which from the looks of it isn't too much and you'll have a good truck man!

Also just for your information you can swap to 24V heads and run a P pump. Personally I like the old mechanical VE pumps but that's just me. Maybe one day ill swap the heads on mine and run a p pump and smoke corvettes in the quarter haha

Sounds like you are a young fella and real anxious to get a Cummins. BEWARE This guy just passed off all responsability and honesty to the previous owner. He said this or that, but no proof. Anyone will take your hard earned money. There are deals everywhere, you just have to look for them. I'm not preach'in just telling you what I would tell my own son. Best of luck.

Had to have radiator fixed $45 outlet was leaking at the bottom resoldered it, new valve cover gaskets, changed oil. And a big bucket of soap.

Only 2 leaks were Rad and valve cover gaskets. Had good brakes, diff and tranny fluid was good Wish now I would have never touch the IP pump. Got the itch and haven't stopped with it LOL

The front bumper and fender were dented up on driverside

You will need more then just a 24v cylinder head to do that convertion correctly. Piston are different from a 12v to a 24v. the bowl is offset for the 12v's and centered for the 24v's.

I know the internals have to be swapped, the point is that it's possible!
