47re rebuild tips
I just purchased a 96 dodge with 378k on the odometer and the tranny is like a sluce box. I plan to rebuild and install a billet converter. this truck will stay mostley stock but i want a strong tranny so what other upgrades to tranny should i do? and yes i have rebuilt autoes before just not a 47re.
poeple always say they will keep there truck mostley stock but it never happens. but since you wont do extreme upgrades, i would get some new cluches( at least the heavy duty ones) a torque converter and i am not much of a valve body guy but something with that. you dont really want to go and get OEM parts to rebuild it and aftermarkit parts for non high performance trucks is not that expensive but you have to search around. i am not a tranny expert so i am sorry if i am leading you in the wrong direction but that is what i would do. there is no way you could live with a stock truck so i would go as big as you could go with what you have.
