fuel filter change/ problems
I just changed mine tonight and my thumb is tired from the dang primer. I did not have any clean diesel on hand so I dumped some 2 cycle oil in the fuel filter to save me some priming. Took 15 minutes and it was the first time I have changed it being that this is my first diesel and I bought it a month ago. My idle was also low I found a link on this website and read the directions a few times over. The pictures helped alot
. I liked it when it was idling higher up around 800 but I turned it down to 700. My u joints are worn so it was going into gear hard with the higher idle.

Next time I will. The o ring for the water drain has been leaking for awhile and recently got got worse so I said the hell with it I'm swapping the filter out tonight. Next time I'll top the filter off with diesel.
I am not familiar with a 95 so I cant give you any tips....I could help you on a 98 though....
I dont think there is a need to fill up the filter housing. Keep in mind doing so will flow unfiltered fuel through your injector pump. May or not may be ok.

How do I look up the links? I think I found some good info on it yesterday did some web surfing hopfully it helps my truck out after I put what I got into action. The fuel filters are a pain to get to. I also fill my filter with fresh fuel if I was not put it in dry I feel like it would take forever to start I takes me about ohhh 3 minuts to get mine started after a change.
But I think my main issue now is getting my idel up to par.
Also how hard is a 96 cummins spoce to shift keep in mind its a Auto. it feel hard but not real hard I dont know its hard to say with out getting behind the wheel for yourself im sure but just a ruff idea
Thanks for the input guys I think my truck will live longer with all the help I get on here.
