Turbo has no oil in the front side, do I need to check the back? And yeah it's got some blowby.

It holds 60-65 oil psi at all times, way more than my last one and it had 360k miles, this one only has 140k. Blow by looks more like steam than blue smoke like any other blowby I've ever seen. Hoping this doesn't cost a fortune.

grab the front of the turbo wheel shaft and shake it up and down see how much play is in it there shouldnt be any but it gets looser over time and the bearings will start to leak and if thats a stock turbo keeping the waste gate closed off will blow the turbo over time

up down is OK to an extent its the in out movement that indicates a blown turbo. these are journal bearing turboes so the oil fills the gap that is up and down.
