He won't need gears, he will need a new carrier. Pull the cover off it and see what's really in there if you get it, maybe it will be a Detroit or something and it will be fine, see how it drives.

 

Yes, if it hops while turning sharp it's locked up or it a spool.

with a spool the tires cant rotate at different speeds. so everytime you turn the truck you are destroying the tires and beating the hell out of the drive line. likethey said above if you drivethis truck and it has a spool you will know it whe nyou turn. because it wont want to and will squall the tires like crazy. that truck is worth way morethan he is asking for it if its in good shape. spool or not jacked up gears or not its worth the investment. i was offered $18000 for my 95 just a few months ago. clean trucks are worth money.

 

Well I just four a 99 for same price 5 5 speed 175000 miles built to the gills just 4x4 doesn't work and few body issues.guy is in debt and needs to seem it. Also it's a Laramie

go with the stock one 99% of the time. dont buy someones molested truck and a 99 ISNT the same truck it has the vp44 pump they are generally not worth as much as a nice 2nd gen p-pump truck

truck has 59,000 original miles on it. i have about $22 in it. everything is for sale but this one is worth more than the rest, far from typical.
