At least we know why it needs tires. Why in Gawd's name would somebody put a spool in a street-driven dually? :scare2:

He said he pulled car trailers. Does it sound like good deal

If you don't get it I'll sure as hell will! :c:

Take a hard look at the driveline! A spool in a dually is not a good thing.

Well I don't know as much about cummins or spools, just going off his words it rides good, I was thinking putting regular gears back in it eventually.what should I look ford

A spool basically locks your rear end up posi. Some people have different opinions on them and you will have the few who just weld them up and say the hell with it. Just seems weird for a DD to have a spool because there is really no need for it and it just puts extra binding on the drive line and wears tires faster. 3.73's

I hope you plan on either going drag racing with this thing, OR putting a new rear end and tires in it every 1000 miles, cause that's just what it's going to need with a "spool" in it.

Ya' sure it's a spool, because if it is you'll never go around a corner without it hopping like a jackrabbit?

That said plan on a new set of rear gears ($200 MAYBE at Chicago gear) and a new set of tires at $225 each - plus taxes and the mounting and balancing.

The 97 isn't going to have 4 doors but it WILL have the inline pump and get great mileage. As for the price, get him down another $900 so you can get those tires and rear gears it needs......IF it really has a spool in it.

Does that guy (or YOU) really know what a spool is??

Put new gears in it IMMEDIATELY!!!.......BUT CHECK IT FIRST. a SPOOL ISN'T DRAIVABLE ON THE STREETS AND YOU WILL KNOW IT'S THERE.
