how much cfm needed for muffler?
how many cfm does the 12v need to breath properly? i am thinking of ditching the muffler/cat and putting a 4" vertical truck muffler horizontally under my truck, i currently have no mods but i am likely to do a little tweaking eventually (not too much though as trans is stock)
i want a little more sound and a little more flow and i can get a donaldson truck muffler for like $80. i would have to re engineer my hangers a bit and put an adaptor on the turbo pipe to get it to 4" (new turbo pipe not in the budget right now) i would likely just put an elbow out of the muffler and dump it in front of the rr wheel .
am i waisting my time/money, or would this give me a little more flow?

If you want cheap do the straight pipe route, it's not a gas to diesel issue. It's turbo or non turbo and rpm thing. If you have a turbo gas with a complete tailpipe system it could meet 50 state noise regulation like a 03-05 dodge neon srt-4. I miss my neon... I digress. If you are cheap cut the cat and muffler and install a straight pipe until you save for a complete 4 or 5 inch system
