96 12v with minor fuel upgrades vs a 2006 LBZ with a simple plug in tuner
so a 12v that wont spin past 2800rpm and only makes about 250 rwhp vs the LBZ that will be in the 380-400rwhp range and can spin to 3200rpm, thats like trying to race a ford focus against a mustang GT, whos going to win every time?

I have nothing against the 12v cummins at all, there are so many idiotic mis-conseptions about the different engines out there it almost makes me laugh and cry at the same time

i read one comment on here where someone was digging the duramax for having aluminum heads..... how is having lightweight heads that aren't affected by high temperature a bad thing? Just ask Dimitri Millard what the heads on his 2000hp duramax are made of..... i'll give you a hint, its NOT cast iron

If you want to crap talk an engine LEARN about it first, don't spout nonsensical information that only makes you look like an idiot

Aluminum is good for a one time use like a Pesi can, I will just be an idiot and run a little slower, cheaper, and longer with a cast iron head.

Yea this thead has turned to trash talking with no point

I don't think the original posters are going to return.

We could just continue to talk crap, maybe bring in the Ford guys, I came from that camp not too long ago, they get real hot about all this brand bashing.

Let's make this the official "bash on a truck brand" thread.

Or.......just shut it down and find something to talk about that has to do with oil, tools, a turbo and such.

I will race any D-Max with my Focus! The terms are: both vehicles get only 10 gal of fuel and the race is 370 miles long. Aluminum heads (D-max) against aluminum head (Focus). We can drag chains just to make it cool.

Arrrg, I think this heat is getting to me !
