so i just rebuilt the 5.9 in my truck, got it put back in friday and went to test drive it today and it just randomly starts white smoking and sputtering. and friday when we got it running it purred like a chicken. i'm guessin its either a miss or its starving for fuel. any suggestions? thanks

 

I would start with starving for fuel or a timing mishap.

 

Make sure your not burning coolant, if your not then I'd check fuel pressure and timing.

random question, did it run fine at idle, then start bogging out when you started giving it more throttle?mine is doing that right now...
