47re shifting issue
Well my trans decided to take a dump on me at lunch today and I'm trying to figure out what's wrong. It will start out in 3rd if I put it in D. I can manually start in 2nd but not first. Also it won't shift in to OD and now my OD on/off button doesn't work. I know 1-2, 2-3 are controlled by the valve body and 3-4 and OD lock up are TPS operated. Did the valve body and TPS crap out at the same time?
Any info on this is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ken

If yours is the same as mine, there's the electrical plug on the transmission, that works with the PCM. Try unplugging it, or maybe it's already unplugged, and replugging it back in. My truck did the same thing when I got the TC/VB upgraded, and my buddy had forgotten to hook it back up. It still does it every now and then, but I just shut the truck off, turn it back on, and it resets itself.

Thanks dennhop. I checked all the connections and everything was good. Found out my truck is in safe mode (or limp mode) and ended up doing the key trick and got a code 12 which is the TCC solenoid. I'll be swapping that out this afternoon and hopefully that'll fix it.

Well replaced the TCC solenoid (which was a royal pita) and it fixed everything. Truck shifts better than ever now.
