Hi im new to this group, and I need some help with my pickup, its a 96 12valve with the 47re. I just had the tranny rebuilt and put it in, so I dont believe my issue is the tranny itself, but my truck will get to a certain rpm when I romp on it and it wont shift for about 5-6 seconds of staying at that rmp. Its also not downshifting. Any advise or help is much appreciated!

I think probably 90% of my posts since I joined this forum have been something to the extent of "sounds like your TV cable is out of adjustment". That having been said, it actually does sound like your TV cable is out of adjustment.

 

Thanks for replying JBearSVT. I just dont understand how that cable would keep it from upshifting. The truck doesnt keep going up in rpms it just sits there for a while.

X2 on the tv cable I would unhook it and try it. The key is while your romping on it it won't shift and that is a classic tv cable problem. Some other reasons would be solenoids that aren't working or the rebuilding is messed up.
