I don't think so its better on the motor to get to full operating temps but for a short time i dont think it will hurt also try plugging in your block heater see if this helps you have a little more heat until you have the time or money to replace the thermostat.

Get a thermostat directly from Cummins. Last time I replaced mine I went with a Stant. Then I was doing some reading on forums like this. I was convinced in getting a stat from Cummins. Comparing the two side by side is like the differemnce between night and day. Guys have lost engines due to a cheap Thermostat - spend a little more and get a much better part.

sounds good thanks man idk if mine is bad but mine wont warm up for 20 minutes of drivin and the heat is barely enough on high

Prolly would be a thermostat issue. My guess is it is stuck open

from readin sounds better then gettin stuck close wish it was like a float on a carburator just tap it with a screwdriver a few times
