take all day and night and if u get ur parts before u start pullin everything clean off or go ahead pull ur head and have it machined while u wait on ur gasket. if thats not the case it sounds like a leaky somethin pullin air in.

any coolent in the oil? or is there an external leak?

and how much time does it take for coolant to drop and when u refill ur coolant any darkeness in color or oil color? i have oil all over the right side of my motor and fron diff comin from under my pump not to highjack thread

These guys are right.but just to let you no a rough estiment what its gonna cost , take your injectors out an do a compression test,that will tell you if you need new sleeves aan head work,or just head work.I hope the best, but if sleeves are good you said you would like to freshen the motor,haisley machine sales rod an main bearings that are the best ive used,do your bottom end and with those miles head needs work,go ahead if can an fire ring the head,an studs....just tryen to help......
Dont worry bout the miles,at 278000 miles an at 542 hp an short block stock only .0005 where on the sleeves at rebuild.

its a 12 valve,pretty cheap,email me if your interested ill help you out on alot of the parts.all at shop price,we have tons of 12 valve rebuild kits an performance parts over stocked from when the shop was bangen,now i have a bunch of parts i cant give away cause the economy.ill help anyone out if possable

i have a question, i have a 95 cummins 12 valve, and in the cold, 30 degrees, it wont turn over, so i jumped the starter, does this mean its the ignition?

i figured it out keroseen in the winter grade of diesel fuel.
